Dr. Debendranath Mishra, the present Director of the sub-centre, Latur is the former Registrar and Controller of Examinations of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, Maharashtra (India) and also the former Head of the Department of Botany and Biotechnology of Abeda Inamdar College (University of Pune), Pune, M.S.

A Post Doctoral Fellow (Gonda Fellowship) of the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences, The Netherlands, Dr. Mishra has a career over 25 years marked by accomplishments in teaching, research and academic administration of large institutions. He is also an ex-NCLite (National Chemical Laboratory, Pune), whereby contributed research in conservation of endangered plant species of Western Ghats by Tissue Culture techniques, a project of the Department of Forest & Environment, Govt. of India.

As an academic administrator, he has introduced innovative reforms in university governance and quality improvement, especially in the examination systems with remarkable success. He has handled and executed the functions of the chairman, secretary and member secretary or a member of academic statutory authorities/bodies/committees of the University with a difference. His participation in the national development programmes is of additional value to his varied experiences.

A widely travelled Dr. Mishra has the determination to strengthen the position of Latur subcentre of SRTMU, Nanded at par with other centres of excellence in the world.
