Summary of Academic Career

I am working as a teacher, researcher and academic administrator in a professional career from about last 09 years, after joining the Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded, Maharashtra, as an assistant professor in the School of Earth Sciences (July 06, 2010 to till date ). I have worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Environmental Science, University of Pune, India for the period of September 2009 to June 2010. As a research associate, I was engaged in the departmental research project, research and teaching activities. I have worked on Environmental Impact Assessment Projects as a coordinator for Environmental Analysis. I have worked as a Senior Environmental Consultant at Yogiraja Industrial Consultants, Bopodi, Pune. I have also worked as visiting faculty in various colleges, including

  • Symbiosis School of Economics, Pune in Academic year 2009-10.
  • Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Pune for the period June 2009 to Sept 2009.

I have completed master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Department of Environmental Science, University of Pune in the year 2009 and ranked II in University with CGPA 5.4 out of 6. I have also qualified UGC SET (2009: I Attempt) and UGC CBSE NET (2014) exam with excellent marks. I have carried out my doctoral research on the topic “Bioaccumulation studies on some selected heavy metals from Isapur Dam with special reference to its aquatic ecosystem.”  During my doctoral work, I have performed several field surveys in the study area and laboratory analysis of water, sediment and plankton samples. I have research experience in the field of Environmental Science including water pollution, GIS and Remote Sensing and published 15 research articles in national and international peer reviewed journals. Also, I have presented my work in 05 International, 07 national and 04 state/local level conferences/seminars. I have also delivered lectures in Orientation and Refresher course organized by Academic Staff Colleges. I have also delivered a lecture in International conference on Remote sensing and GIS applications.

I am a life member of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Membership No. L25730 and Journal of Environmental Science and Engineering, (NEERI, Nagpur). Consequently, In addition, throughout my academic carrier, I have delivered several guest lectures, public talks and worked as an expert/Judge in science competition at regional and state levels.

I have Participated and Successfully completed 17 IIRS Outreach Satellite based distance learning programs organized by IIRS, Govt. of India. I am regularly organizing extension Activities for Nirmalya collection and Management, continuously engaged in delivering Public lectures and lectures to NSS etc.

In addition, throughout my academic carrier, I have delivered several guest lectures, public talks and worked as an expert in science competition at regional and state levels. I was fortunate enough to have an association with Shri. Pramod Kumar, Senior Scientist, Water and Resource Management Division RRSSC, ISRO, Dehradun.  Under his able guidance I worked on a project, “Identification of Prospective Hydropower sites in the Nandakini River Valley, Uttarakhand at Regional Remote Sensing Service Centre (RRSSC), Dehradun affiliated to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Dehradun during May 2008 - July 2008.

Extension/Outreach Activities:
  1. I have successfully completed minor research project on “Environmental Education and Awareness Programmes in Educational Institutes in Nanded and Adjoining Area” and “Development of Alternative Approach towards the Disaster Mitigation in Society” funded by Extension Activities Scheme under the UGC XII Plan with sanctioned Amount: Rs 7,70,000. I have visited more than 10 schools and colleges and organized several activities including national and international seminar for successful completion of the activity.
  2. I am regularly organizing Nirmalya collection and public awareness programs in association with local colleges and NWCMC during Ganeshotsav from last 8 years.
  3. I have also organized Ecofrienly Ganesh Idol making programs with the students of School of Earth Sciences, SRTM university, Nanded since last four years
  4. I have delivered various public talks (More than 20) addressing current environmental issues, scope and importance of Environmental Science subject and recent geographic technologies for the benefit of society. These lectures were organized in ZPPS primary schools, high-schools, colleges and in University.
  5. I am also involved in organizing voter awareness programs, NSS activities including blood donation, cleanliness rallies etc.
  6. I have also arranged certain activities for wild animals including birds, for their sustenance in summer season by developing water sources.
  7. I have worked as Mentor for students in Science competition and acted as Judge for science exihibition and other competitions in and around SRTM University, Nanded.
  8. I have organized special program on the occasion of World ozone day to increase the awareness about the effects and control measures air pollution and Ozone depletion
  9. Worked with Maritime Coastal Cleaning Foundation in 2008 and 2009.
