Summary of Academic Career:

As soon as I have finished my PhD dissertation work in Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, I had two options to build my career. One in the direction of going for post-doctoral research fellowship (which were already in hand) and the other is to take the privilege of joining academic Institution where I have been working. But, the zeal and ambition towards the noble profession since my childhood days lead me to choose SRTM University, Nanded to start my teaching career in 2009. I have been enjoying the immense satisfaction by teaching Physical Chemistry, Advanced Quantum Chemistry, Photochemistry, Electrochemistry and Molecular Spectroscopy to M.Sc. students. It also provided me a great opportunity to improve my own skills in expressing myself and improving further my research ideas by interacting with fresh and young minds.

I have been involved with elucidation of electronic structure of Near Infra-red (NIR) absorbing organic functional dyes through ab-inito and Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods. More specifically, oxyallyl substructure (OXA) based squarylium(SQ) and croconic acid (CR) derivatives were showing near infra-red absorption even with the simple chromophores like aniline and nitro-benzene. In addition, several collaborative activities with experimental research groups are also going on in our laboratory. The various DFT approaches towards understanding the behavior of materials (such as OLED, Solar Cells, water splitting mechanism and gas sensors) have been applied which led to a logical conclusion and at the same time resulted publications in internationally reputed journals.
