Summary of Academic Career

On realising teaching as my favourite profession in my early childhood, I decided to pursue my dream to be a teacher of English. For this to happen, I had to move to Ahmednagar, College, Ahmednagar, from where I graduated  with distinction and Fergussion College, Pune, from where I post-graduated with first class. In order to become a lecturer in English, I decided give up a government job in Mumbai, which I had earned by qualifying an examination conduced by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission. Soon after joining New Arts, Commerce and Science College, Ahmednagar, I qualified SET in English. Coming to Ahmednagar from Pune and then Mumbai was part of my commitment to work in the rural area.

In the early part of career, I decided to write in Marathi. I could writed over 10 tracts on various educational and historical issues. These tracts were published by the Krantisinh Nana Patil Academy, an organisation of the progressive intellectuals.

I earned Ph. D. in Enlglish from Pune University for the thesis entitled as 'Language Politics under Colonialism: Caste, Class and Language Pedagogy in Western India' in 2009. A revised verstion of this thesis was published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Enngland in 2013.

I was awarded with Associateship by the UGC-IUC, IIAS, Shimla during 2008-2010. IN March 2009, I joined the SRTM University, Nanded, where I worked as the co-ordinator for 1) Centre for Foreign Languages, 2) Soft Skill and Personality Development Programme and 3) Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chair and Studies Centre. I introduced many new courses at the PG level such as Sociolinguistics, Cultural Studies and Translation Studies.
