Short Biography

Ghanshyam S. Yelne, M.S.W., SET with specialization in (L.W. & P.M.) from Sant  Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amaravati. (1989). He obtained his Ph.D. degree in sociology from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded (2005). Presently he is working as Professor in the School of Social Sciences, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded and working as coordinator for UGC-SAP-DRS-II in Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences and Late Shree Uttamrao Rathod Tribal Development and Research Center, Kinwat. Also working as a member of IQAC of this university. Prior to this he worked with various NGO’s, semi government organization (MAVIM) and Government organization District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Nanded in various capacities. Presently he is working as a member of board of studies in Social Work of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded, Gondwana University, Gadchiroli and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. He has also worked as a RRC member of Sant  Gadge Baba Amaravati University, Amaravati and member of board of studies in social work in North Maharashtra University, Jalagaon. He has recognized research guide of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded and Sant Gadge Baba Amaravati University, Amaravati. More than 20 students completed their Ph.D. and M.Phil. under his guidance.  He is also a member of Maharashtra State Social Work Educators Association (MASWE), National Association for Professional Social Workers Association (NAPSWE), Maharashtra Stree Abhyas Vyaspeeth and Marathi Samajshastra Parishad . He has published number of articles in various International and national level journals and visited to country like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Nepal.  He has published a book on Women’s Empowerment Through Self-Help Groups and Co-author of Marathi book “Shetakaryancya Atmahatya va Krishivishak Samasya” with (Dr. Bhalchandra Deshamukh), An Intervention of CBO’s In Rural; Development : A Social Work Perspective With (Dr. Bhart Khandagale) and on “Development Displacement and rehabilitation : Experience of Nanded City” (Dr. Maroti Gaikawad) He has completed three minor research projects and one major research Project. He is known for his extension activities in rural area like women SHG’s. His area of interest includes Micro-Credit (SHG’s), Women Empowerment, Entrepreneurship Development, NGO’s and Development, Human Resources Development, SPSS and Personality Development. He has been working on various committees of universities and Higher Education for smooth functioning of academic development and delivered more than 50 lectures in (HRDC)Academic Staff Colleges of various universities I Maharashtra.

01) Published a joint research paper with Pushpesh Kumar titled “Women Resisting Violence: the Economic as Political ’’in Sociological Bulleting in March 2003.

02) Published a research paper titled "Women’s Participation in Self Help Groups” in perspectives of Social Work Journal, (ISSN-2321-211X) Published by Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work, Mumbai, March 2002.

03) Published a joint research paper entitled "People Forest Interface Sustainability of the Forest Resources” with Baburao Jadhao, Research Scholar in Participative Development a multi-disciplinary research journal(ISSN-0976-2701) published by Center for Social research and development, Pune (2012).

1. Action project “SHAKTI” is running for Socio, economic, cultural and political empowerment of the women in the Surrounding villages of University Zari, Pangari, Asarjan, Asadwan and Vishnupuri .

2. Adopted five villages for all round development and organised various programme like Shramdan, Mahila Melawas, awareness programme on sanitation, Health Checkups camp, Blood donation

3. Organised one day Entrepreneurship Development Programme for tribal youths at Tribal  Research Centre , kinwat

4. Entrepreneurship Development Programme for women of Rural Self-help Groups at village Zari.

5. Organized 7 days study tour programme for M.S.W. IV semester students in Vidharbha and western Maharashtra region for the study of NGO’s and Industries. (Five times).

6. Organized 10 days NSS and Rural Development Village camp  for M.S.W. II semester students five times at below mentioned villages At. Post.- Zari, Tahasil- Loha, District-Nanded.
